“Chess” is a tall, handsome, and athletic gelding who also happens to be a complete goofball. He is about as in-your-pocket as they come! Chess retired from racing in September 2023 and has enjoyed a winter of groundwork and turnout. He had a lot of growing to do! Now that the weather is turning, we look forward to getting Chess restarted. He is playful, curious, and eager to learn.

Chess cross-ties, leads, and lunges like a pro. He stands quietly for the farrier and will happily dig through your pockets any chance he gets. Chess would do well in a consistent program with an experienced hand. He can be pushy on the ground and is currently working on boundaries!
