ABOUT: Arkansas Joe came to Akindale in 2013 from the Ziots and soon found a home through our adoption program. He spent several years with his adopter, but unfortunately, due to circumstances with his owner, Arkansas Joe was returned to Akindale in 2017.

Upon his return, it was decided that Arkansas Joe would become a permanent member of our sanctuary. Today, he enjoys a peaceful retirement surrounded by his herd, with the security of knowing that Akindale will always be his home.

Arkansas Joe’s story is a reminder of the lifelong commitment we make to the Thoroughbreds who come through our doors. Whether they remain with us from the beginning or return years after adoption, they will always have a safe place to land at Akindale.
