ABOUT: Bustin Timberlake came to Akindale through Take The Lead in 2023 with a left front suspensory injury. We took our time with his rehabilitation, giving him all the time he needed to heal properly before asking him to return to work.

Once he was ready, Bustin began his retraining and progressed to walking, trotting, and cantering under saddle, as well as working over poles. He also has a slight abnormality around his atlas that appears to be cosmetic and hasn't stopped him from showing us what a fun and capable horse he can be.

And Bustin certainly has personality! He is a funny, playful guy who always seems to keep us entertained. When Akindale was without a trainer, Bustin was turned out with our sanctuary herd, where he quickly settled into life with his friends. He is now perfectly happy spending his days out in the fields and has become quite the social member of his herd.

While Bustin is currently enjoying sanctuary life, we believe he could still have a future beyond retirement. He could be available for adoption to the right person who understands his history and is willing to take their time bringing him thoughtfully back into work. Until that person comes along, Bustin is more than happy enjoying life with his friends at Akindale.
