ABOUT: Cami Rachelle came to Akindale through Beyond the Wire in 2023 after retiring sound from racing. She arrived ready for some well-deserved downtime, and with Akindale without a trainer at the time, she was given the opportunity to simply let down and enjoy life turned out with our sanctuary herd.

Cami is a quiet, easygoing mare who is perfectly content spending her days relaxing with her friends. She can often be found at the fence enjoying one of her favorite pastimes—cribbing. It may not be how we would choose to spend the afternoon, but Cami seems to think she has it all figured out!

Although she has been enjoying the slower pace of sanctuary life, Cami is not permanently retired. She has not yet been restarted under saddle through no fault of her own and could be a wonderful candidate for someone looking for a Thoroughbred with a fresh start. She is available for adoption to the right home willing to give her the time and thoughtful restart she deserves.

Until then, Cami is quite happy enjoying her friends, her field, and, of course, her favorite fence.
