ABOUT: Coaltown Legend has deep roots at Akindale. He was bred here by Akindale Farm and the late trainer Kate Feron before going on to become a successful racehorse.

While Coaltown found success on the track, the later years of his racing career were more difficult. People who knew and cared about him advocated strongly for his retirement, and eventually, Coaltown came home to Akindale—the place where his story began.

Since returning, Coaltown has certainly received the special treatment he deserves. He even has his very own field named after him, where he spends his days alongside his three best friends. After giving so much during his racing career, his life today is all about enjoying the simple things: plenty of grass, good friends, and the freedom to just be a horse.

Coaltown Legend will always hold a special place in Akindale's history and in our hearts. From being bred here to racing and ultimately returning home for retirement, he is truly one of Akindale's legends.
