ABOUT: Extra Bend is one of those horses who has been part of our farm family for so long that it is hard to imagine the place without him. He came to us in 2009, and after all these years, he has certainly earned his status as one of the farm's beloved old-timers.

Before retiring to Akindale, Extra Bend had a successful racing career. The 2003 gelding, by Twining out of Talega, earned $209,076 on the track and won the Spend a Buck Stakes at Monmouth Park. He was also stakes-placed during his racing career and competed successfully at tracks including Monmouth Park and Aqueduct.

But these days, Extra Bend is much more interested in enjoying the good life than worrying about his racing record.

And, of course, we can't talk about Extra Bend without mentioning that forelock. He has one of the best forelocks on the entire farm! He is a true veteran of the farm and has become a familiar and much loved face around the property.

After more than a decade with us, Extra Bend isn't just another horse on the farm, he's part of the family.
