ABOUT: Hookin the Goods came to Akindale in the spring of 2019 after being rescued from a neglect case alongside five other horses. Like the others, she arrived needing care, rehabilitation, and most importantly, a safe place to call home.

She began her rehabilitation here at Akindale and quickly became one of our favorites. Despite everything she had been through, Hookin the Goods showed us just how forgiving and loving horses can be. Rather than being fearful or withdrawn, she embraced the attention and affection of those caring for her, showing a sweetness that made it impossible not to fall in love with her.

It is truly remarkable how much love this mare has to give after experiencing neglect. Her kind personality and affectionate nature have made her a special part of the Akindale family, and she continues to remind us why second chances are so important.

Today, Hookin the Goods enjoys the security and companionship of life at Akindale, where she no longer has to worry about what tomorrow will bring. Her story is one of resilience, trust, and the incredible ability of horses to move forward despite their past.
