ABOUT: Luna is one of our longtime residents here at Akindale, having called the farm home for well over a decade. An unregistered Thoroughbred mare, Luna's past is a bit of a mystery. While we don't have much information about her life before Akindale, we believe she likely came to us through an auction, as many horses did during that time.

Without registration papers or much of a recorded history, we may never know exactly where Luna came from or what her life looked like before arriving here. But one thing we do know is that she found a permanent home at Akindale.

Over the years, Luna has become a familiar part of our sanctuary. She's spent her days enjoying the freedom of our pastures, the companionship of other horses, and the security of knowing she has a place to call home.

Not every horse comes to us with a remarkable racing career or a story we can piece together. Some, like Luna, arrive with more questions than answers. But their stories are no less important, and their futures deserve just as much care and attention.

We're happy that Luna's journey, wherever it began, brought her to Akindale. Here, she will always have a safe place to call home.
