ABOUT: Nugget of Wisdom arrived at Akindale in 2014 following his racing career, ready to begin a new chapter. With his handsome looks and plenty of personality, we hoped he would find success in a second career beyond the racetrack.

In 2015, Nugget was adopted into a new home, where he initially did very well. However, as the seasons changed and the cooler weather arrived, Nugget began showing a little more enthusiasm than his adopter was comfortable handling. Despite his initial success, his increased freshness made him a challenging match, and the decision was made for him to return to Akindale.

Rather than continue searching for another home, we decided that Nugget would be happiest enjoying a permanent retirement in our sanctuary.

Since then, Nugget has spent his days living among his herd, enjoying the freedom and companionship that come with sanctuary life. While his second career didn't quite work out as planned, he found something just as special, a forever home where he can simply be himself.

At Akindale, we believe every horse deserves a safe place to land, even when their journey takes an unexpected turn. For Nugget of Wisdom, that place will always be here
