PREVIOUS INJURIES: No known injuries, mild sway back

ABOUT: Patrick came to us in 2019 as part of a starvation rescue involving several horses. After receiving some TLC, he was restarted under saddle.

Through no fault of his own, Patrick has spent the past several years turned out while we were without a trainer to keep him in consistent work. Before taking time off, Patrick was going comfortably at the walk, trot, and canter and was confidently jumping small courses. He even attended the Equine Affaire, where he handled the busy atmosphere exceptionally well and proved himself to be a sensible and willing partner.

Patrick was then adopted into a loving home but returned to us about a year later after sustaining a wound that required more veterinary care beyond what his adopter was able to manage financially.

He is now back in training and progressing well. Patrick is not a hot horse, but he does have his own engine and enjoys having a job. He is a cute mover, stands quietly on the cross ties for grooming and bathing, and lunges well. He has always gone barefoot and is currently sound without shoes. He absolutely loves attention and having friends! He has been spending most of his time in a pasture, coming into a stall for only a few hours each day to get work and get out of the heat.

Because of his time away from work, Patrick will benefit from a knowledgeable rider who can continue bringing him back into a consistent program. He is not suited for a beginner rider but would make an excellent partner for an intermediate rider or someone working with a trainer. We believe he would once again enjoy a career as a pleasure horse, lower-level sport horse, or all-around partner.
