ABOUT: With a name like Prayforspring, we think she speaks for just about every horse at Akindale when winter rolls around. After all, who wouldn't trade the cold weather for sunshine and fresh green grass?

Prayforspring arrived at Akindale in 2012 following her racing career. A big, beautiful mare with an impressive presence, she certainly stands out in the herd!

At some point after her arrival, Prayforspring was adopted into a new home. However, in December 2014, she returned to Akindale alongside fellow Thoroughbred Carmen Amaya. Unfortunately, our records don't indicate why the two mares were returned, but both were welcomed back to the farm.

One thing that hasn't changed over the years is their friendship! Prayforspring and Carmen Amaya are still best friends to this day. After all these years, the two mares remain close companions, proving that some friendships really do last a lifetime.

Since returning to Akindale, Prayforspring has spent her years enjoying life in our sanctuary. With plenty of room to roam, her best friend by her side, and no expectations beyond simply being a horse, she has found her forever home.

While we may not know every detail of Prayforspring's past, we do know that her future is secure. At Akindale, our commitment to the horses in our care doesn't end when they leave for an adoptive home. Sometimes their journeys lead them right back to us, and we are here to welcome them home.
