ABOUT: Snookie was originally part of a starvation and neglect rescue case that Akindale assisted with in 2019. Following her rescue, she was adopted directly from the case by a wonderful family who wanted to give her a second chance at life.

Unfortunately, her adopters soon realized that Snookie had far less training than they initially understood. She had never been started under saddle and lacked many of the basic foundation skills needed for handling and training. After giving her a loving home for a year, they reached out to Akindale to see if we could take her in, and of course, we said yes!

Today, Snookie is a happy, healthy, and incredibly social mare who has settled beautifully into sanctuary life. She loves attention and has certainly never missed a meal! In fact, looking at her now, you would never guess she was once part of a starvation case. We often joke that she looks like she's expecting a foal!

Snookie's transformation is a wonderful reminder of just how far a horse can come with proper care, a safe environment, and a little extra love. She now gets to enjoy her days surrounded by friends, with a full belly and not a worry in the world.
