ABOUT: Swampy Town came to Akindale in 2013 after retiring sound from a long racing career. A fan favorite at Suffolk Downs, Swampy Town enjoyed a successful career on the track, racing well into his older years and proving that he had plenty of heart.

One of the things that makes Swampy Town so recognizable is his rather unique appearance. He has a pronounced swayback, which never seemed to affect his ability to race. However, fitting him with an English saddle for a second career would have been quite challenging. Rather than pursue retraining, the decision was made to let him enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

Today, Swampy Town is living his best life in a private field with three other horses, including his very best friend, Helooksthepart. The two have formed quite the friendship and spend their days enjoying the peaceful life of retirement together.

With his distinctive swayback and charming personality, Swampy Town is certainly one of the more recognizable faces at Akindale. He may look a little different from the other horses, but that's part of what makes him so special!

After spending so many years on the racetrack, Swampy Town has more than earned his place in our sanctuary, where he can enjoy his days surrounded by friends and without a care in the world.
