ABOUT: Tacticianor's story is one of second chances, remarkable connections, and a well-deserved happy ending.

Born in 2004, Tacticianor is a gray Thoroughbred and the half-brother of the legendary Evening Attire. While his famous brother enjoyed an incredibly successful racing career, Tacticianor's path was quite different. After earning just over $16,000 on the track, he eventually found himself in a heartbreaking situation.

In July 2010, Tacticianor was discovered at the Sugarcreek Auction in Ohio, severely underweight and in poor condition, where he was at risk of being shipped to slaughter. He was purchased for just $75, and thanks to the efforts of those who recognized his identity and stepped in to help, he was given a second chance.

Following his rescue and rehabilitation, arrangements were made for Tacticianor to come to Akindale, where he was reunited with his famous half-brother, Evening Attire. The two developed a wonderful bond, spending time together in the paddocks and often getting into mischief. While Evening Attire was known for his gentlemanly personality, Tacticianor was reportedly the troublemaker of the pair! The brothers shared a special connection until Evening Attire's passing in 2019.

Today, Tacticianor continues to enjoy the retirement he so greatly deserves. He lives in a private field with three of his friends, including his very best friend, Coaltown Legend. The two have formed a wonderful friendship and spend their days grazing, relaxing, and enjoying the peaceful life that sanctuary provides.

From being sold for just $75 at a slaughter auction to spending his golden years surrounded by friends on the rolling hills of Akindale, Tacticianor's journey is a powerful reminder of why Thoroughbred aftercare is so important. While his famous brother may no longer be with us, Tacticianor continues to carry a special piece of Akindale's history.
