ABOUT: Tootsie's Song came to Akindale in the summer of 2026 after a rather unfortunate series of events. She was originally adopted through the Finger Lakes adoption program by someone hoping to compete in the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP). She was later placed with another owner, who unfortunately abandoned her.

Thankfully, a client of a friend of ours learned about Tootsie's situation. Our friend stepped in to get her to safety, and from there, she made her way to Akindale, where she could have the stability and care she deserved.

Before arriving, Tootsie had been ridden both English and Western, but she was known to be a very forward ride and had some anxiety surrounding the mounting block. While she has experience under saddle, she would need someone with the patience, consistency, and time to help her work through those anxieties and build her confidence.

For now, Tootsie is enjoying life here at Akindale, and we have gotten to know just how incredibly sweet she really is. She absolutely loves attention and has quickly become one of our favorites. She has also formed a wonderful friendship with Royal Event, and the two have become quite the pair!

Although her journey hasn't gone quite as planned, Tootsie has finally found a place where she can settle in without any pressure or expectations. Whether or not she eventually returns to a riding career, what matters most is that she is safe, happy, and surrounded by friends.
